I am very very picky when it comes to my ranch. I love it on almost everything, but don't like too many store brands. What's a girl to do?? Make my own of course! Homemade taste so much better.
I like my ranch lite on the mayo, and heavy on the buttermilk. And in order to keep the thickness I swapped some of the mayo for sour cream, plus it makes it a bit lighter on the calories too. But if you like mayo better than add a bit more and reduce the sour cream. You can also add some chives if your in the mood. :)

Homemade Buttermilk Ranch Dressing
Ingredients
- 1 cup buttermilk
- 3/4 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 3/4 teaspoon parsley
- 1/2 - 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/8 teaspoon thyme (opt)
- 1/2 teaspoon dill weed
- 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1/4 teaspoon sugar
Cooking Directions
- *In a medium mixing bowl combine all ingredients. Beat until smooth. Cover and chill for at least one hour before serving. Tastes even better after 24 hours.

Have you tried replacing the sour cream with Greek yogurt?
No, I haven't but I have seen it done before. :)
My daughter loves ranch dressing but I've never made it myself before. Thanks for the recipe! :)
