Taco Seasoning

Why spend money on buying taco seasoning when most likely you already have all the spices you need at home? Plus I can control how much salt and what goes in it. Homemade just taste better too.  Makes enough for one pound of ground beef. :)

Taco Seasoning

  • 1 Tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon oregano
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground coriander
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup water (opt)

Cooking Directions

  1. *In a large skillet brown 1 pound ground beef over medium high heat. Drain and return to pan, add seasonings and water (if desired). Reduce heat to low and let simmer for about 5 minutes. Serve hot.

Makes seasoning for 1 lb. ground beef

I just mixed this up, as I finally ran out of the large pre-fab container of taco seasoning. I didn't have any ground coriander. Haven't actually made anything with it yet, but I'll let you know how it goes.
