Cinnamon Sugar Popcorn

Another movie night for us tomorrow. This popcorn is one of my favorites. It's great and not too sweet.  We have made this several weeks in a row, and was an instant family hit. :)

Also try the Cajun Popcorn

Cinnamon Sugar Popcorn

Ingredients
  • 2 Tablespoons butter
  • 1 Tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup popcorn kernels
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 4 Tablespoons sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • pinch salt

Cooking Directions

  1. *In a large skillet with a lid (we like our dutch oven for this), heat the oil and 2 Tablespoons of butter over medium-high heat. Add 2 kernels of the corn and cover the skillet. When one of the kernels pops, add the remaining popcorn to the pan. Cover and shake until the popping stops, then transfer the popcorn to a large bowl. Discard any uncooked kernels.
  2. In a medium sauce pan melt remaining butter over medium heat, add salt, sugar, and cinnamon. Reduce heat to low and stir until completely mixed and sugar is melted.
  3. Slowly drizzle over cooked popcorn and tossing to mix. If you let the popcorn rest for a few minutes after completely covering it, it will slightly harden.
