Every year for New Year's Eve we make our own pizzas and jello shots. Now we use to have a night out but that was before kids. So we make it a night in and have just much fun as a night on the town. We put the kids to bed early and enjoy the goodies. :)
A fun fact ~ New Year's Eve is the second most consumed pizza day next to the Super Bowl of course! So go eat pizza! :)

Beer Pizza Crust
Ingredients
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons instant yeast
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
- 3 Tablespoons olive oil
- 1 1/2 cups beer, room temperature
- 1/2 Tablespoon garlic powder (opt)
- 1/2 Tablespoon Italian seasoning (opt)
Cooking Directions
- *Mix and knead together all of the dough ingredients by hand, mixer or bread machine until you've made a smooth, soft dough. Roll dough out for a thin crust or cover and allow it to rise for 30 minutes to an hour for thicker crust. (I let mine rise for the full hour)
- Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F with the pizza stone (if you're using one) on a lower rack. Divide the dough in half. Shape each half into a to 12" round. Place the rounds on parchment paper, if you're going to use a pizza stone. Or place the dough on a lightly greased or parchment-lined baking sheet. Poke crust with a fork several times. Transfer the pizzas, parchment and all, to the baking stone. Or place the pans in the oven.
- Bake for 5 minutes on lower rack. Remove from the oven, top as desired, and bake for an additional 5-7 minutes on middle rack, until the bottom crust is crisp and the cheese is bubbly and browned. (Mine was done in 5 minutes but the original recipe called for 15 mins of cook time so more may be needed.)
Makes 2 - 12 inch pizzas

This looks so good. I love that you used beer. I'm not a beer drinker, but I do love to cook with beer. Thanks for sharing.
