Ahhh.. The smell of autumn. I love this time of year. Here in Texas today we actually got some chilly weather and rain. Amazing I know! With the extra chill in the air it sent me into fall mode with my cozy flannel pajamas and this wonderful bread. This batter is sooo good to eat straight out of the bowl (I know I know its bad for me). I am not a big pie eater but this bread is yum! I love the chunk of apple bits and the buttermilk.
Apple Pie Bread

- 1/2 teaspoon apple pie spice
- 3 Tablespoons all purpose flour
- 2 Tablespoons butter, softened

Cooking Directions

- Stir in apples and nuts by hand. Spoon batter into prepared pan; spread evenly.
- *For the topping - In a small bowl, combine brown sugar, flour, and apple pie spice. Using a fork, cut in butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in walnuts or pecans.
- Sprinkle Streusel-Nut Topping over batter. Bake for 60 to 65 minutes or until a wooden toothpick inserted near the center comes out clean.
- Cool in pan on a wire rack for 10 minutes. Remove from pan.
- Cool completely on wire rack. Wrap and store overnight before slicing.

I am going to try and leave a comment again. For some reason it would not let me leave one the day you posted this recipe. Your bread looks great! Apple pie goodness in bread form. : ) Don't worry food blogging gets easier and it's so much fun. The more you post the more you love it!

Kristen~ My family LOVES it! Thank you!
Oh Tracy! I am so glad your family loved it! You have made my night! :)
Kristin~ if I want to make them as mini loaves how would you change the temp and time? or even muffins? Just thinking...
To be honest I don't own mini loaf pans so that I wouldn't have a clue. But for the muffins if you use regular size pan I would check it at maybe 13 mins in?? I haven't tried them as muffins so I am just guessing here. If you figured out let me know! :)
This bread was AWESOME! I am always looking for new recipes with apples. I passed the recipe on to a few people & they LOVED it too! Thanks for sharing:)))
I have a smaller loaf pan, would it be ok or should i split it between two pans?
Hi Amy, I would probably split between two pans. Most likely your cook time will be shorter too. :) Kristen
